So, our f(r)iend Kelly is hanging out with us, and she just turned us on to a song that’s perfect for Halloween.

Here’s the Exbats with “I’m A Witch”…

I’m a huge Angelspit fan. If I had kids, and it turned out they weren’t Angelspit fans, I’d make ’em spend a night in the yard with the dogs until they got their heads straightened out.

Mark Gatiss‘ History of Horror programs are a must-watch for a lot of reasons, one of which being that, during the second installment, he touches upon “Folk Horror”: a series of made during the late-sixties and early-seventies. Examples of Folk Horror would include Witchfinder General, Mark of the Devil, The Wicker Man, and the excellent Blood on Satan’s Claw.

The musical equivalent of these films would be Unto Ashes. You could argue with me about that staement, but you’d be wrong.

I really wouldn’t be doing my job if I failed to include a song called “Horror Music” by a band called Rosegarden Funeral Party, now would I?

I lose a great deal of sleep over folks whose Halloween music playlist consists of “Thriller” and “Spooky”. COMMIT TO THE HOLIDAY, PEOPLE!

I really need to get a tattoo of a raven.

Once, while visiting the Tower of London I had my path blocked by one of the ravens who reside there. It wasn’t going to give up an inch of ground and I – knowing that a raven can, and will, bite off your finger – wasn’t going to force the issue.

Suddenly, a Yeomen Warder (AKA “Beefeater“), whom I later learned was the assistant Ravenmaster (where was that booth on Career Day?) began shouting “Rodney! Stop it!”

“I’m not doing anything”, I protested.

“I’m talking to Rodney.”

“Yes. You are, indeed, talking to Rodney. I don’t know how you know my name but…”

“Rodney is that raven’s name.”
